Re: 20V Engine
I used to own a 1990 20v'er for three years. Nice fast ride on the hiway
- absolutely loved to rev to the 7200rpm limit every gear change. The
2.3 ltr 20v engine (7A), pulls very hard from 4000rpm to redline. It
also loves oil. Like any good hard running engine, always keep it topped
off. The downside of this engine, (and most other multi-valve NA
twincams) is the constant engine revving needed to _really_ get the
heavy 90 series to go from a standstill. Once in the powerband and
horsepower range - it scoots.
My wife mostly drove this car and she liked it. I prefer an engine with
a little more low end grunt.
If you do decide to purchase it, swap out the air filter box and install
a K&N cone style filter with a heat shield. The 7A engine sounds
marvelous under full acceleration.
