An added benefit to running different offsets front and rear is a slightly
wider front track, which helps reduce understeer. I'm running 8x17 wheels on
my '89 200q using offsets very similar to the above (33mm front, 45mm rear)
and have had no body contact problems whatsoever with either 215/45-17 BFG
Comp T/As or Dunlop SP-8000s ... rotating them is a pain, though.

Exactly, wider is better:-) No pontiacs here though. I run the A4
5 spokers 45mm offset with 10mm German($$$) spacers up front
to give it that filled out look whereas before, the front two rims looked
kinda 'lost' in there. I did however have to slightly flair the front
fenders once I installed the 225/50/16's though. Looks incredible
now. Rear quarters were already flared 1 inch about 3 years ago.
NO rubbing anywhere! Just thought you guys might want to know.
Also, yes longer wheel bolts are required for the fronts now. This is
the best and easiest way to go if you still want to be able to rotate
all your tires.
