    These butterfly clips can be pesky little sods to engage. I engaged the
lower side of the strip and then snapped the top side of the strip into
place by hand. Sometimes a little gentle encouragement with a rubber mallet
was required. Pushing up on the strip compressed the bottom "wings" of the
clip and seemed to help.
    If I remember correctly, the bottom of the Type 44 grille is secured by
two posts which fit into mounts on the body.
