Unfortunately, you have to pick the right "horse for the course" and when it 
comes to drag racing, nothing Audi ever sold in this country is going to fit 
the bill.  Even with the 944 you suggested as an alternative, you'll have 
problems in a dry race -- one run without beer, I presume? -- unless you find 
one with a turbo; even then, you'll still get taken off the line more often 
than not.
