Unless the spacer has a locating lip for the wheel on one side and a matching
recess for the lip on the brake rotor on the other, then the bolts are in
single shear and subject to a bending load. This may not be fatal -- Porsche
also did this on its 914 -- but it's not very confidence inspiring, either.
