Subject: 95 A6 gamma radio replacement
I was looking to install a CD player in my 95 A6q a while back. I got some
great advice from the list and lots of misleading advice from local Stereo
shops. I ended up putting a 10 CD changer in the trunk. It plays off of the
factory radio and does a fairly decent job (but I'm not a fanatic...not about
that anyway). The little bar with the display is attached to the front of the
ashtray which is never used in my car...but would still open if I wanted to
throw change in there or something. Its low down on the dash so its not real
noticeable.
I like this set up. Its fairly subtle and doesn't interfere with the
aesthetics of the dash. The problem I had with an in-dash CD player is the
display color. Since everything else is red, I think another color that high
up on the dash would look icky. JMHO.

>>Recenting bought nice 95 A6 quattro. The car is great, but the gamma
cassette radio is not. I'd like to replace with in-dash CD Player
(eclipse?). The local auto stereo shops says 'no problem, all we need
to do is remove radio and use an electronic adaptor'.
Does anyone have experience replacing gamma radio w/ after market cd?
I don't want to replace the wiring or speakers. Any suggestions?
Thanks
