The sub codes are compatible between brands. There are a few out there
that actually have scramblers, but it's a feature you turn on. I don't
know if the units with 14 channels and no codes would be the same as
channel 4 code 0 or what. Could be. There will undoubtedly be lots of
traffic on code 0 if that's the case. I also read in the instructions
that the middle of the code range, 14-20 or so is the best place to be
as it puts you the furthest from the "regular" channels. So your choice
of channel 4 code 20 would be a good one, except Dan won't be able to
hear us.
