weak spot Audi type 43?

Hi Audifans,

For those who have knowledge of these old Audi-model (100 / 5000, produced 
from 1978-1982):
Is there a know weak spot in the (left) sill, just to the end of the sill (short 
before the rear wheel), there where the trailing arm of the rear axle is pivoting on 
the body??
I diagnosed rot on the outer sill and inner sill just at this place in my Audi 100 
(43) from 1982..
How is any repair done?? (welding in new metal?)
Or is rot here lethal??? :-(
