Type 44 temp sensor install

any tips on installing it? it looks hard to get at, because of its
position... i'm assuming i can just remove the upper rad hose to drain the 
coolant, then remove the switch, or do i have to remove that whole 
thermostat housing that comes out of the top of the engine?  any ideas,

The temp sensor can be replaced without removing any surrounding pieces if 
you have a proper wrench.  I found the amount of coolant lost by just 
replacing the sender and keeping the rest of the cooling system intact is 
very minor compared to opening the system elswhere to partially drain. BTDT
