radiator temp sensor, 5kS
I asked about this with much less detail a little while
ago, with no response.
Looking at the Bentley, I appear to have a '84-? 5k turbo
style 3-pin temp sensor in my new/old radiator;
my question is which pair of pins is switched together at
what (rough) temperature?
The connector has 3 pins in line, with one end of that
line being a little pointed. The wire colors on my remaining
bit of harness don't quite agree with the Bentley colors,
but I'd guess that the pin closest to the pointed end and the
center pin close at a lower temperature.
Can anyone confirm or deny this or elaborate?
(Yes, technically I could use the old rad's sensor,
but it's all attached so nicely, and I'd hate to use any force
on the radiator plastic if I can avoid it...)
thanks.
Interestingly, my old fan shroud has a flat plastic
extension wall past the overflow end of the radiator, while
the new old radiator has this extension molded into its plastic
end (where the old rad has space for the fan's wall). These
two pieces intend to occupy the same space, so the
one on the fan shroud had to go.
