Not sure what to suggest that hasn't been said on the belt issue but...

If you're gonna go "rice" you could at least do the H*nd* S2000. Redline is 
9000RPM (no typo), 2800# curb weight, 245hp @ 8400RPM sounds pretty darned 
fun to me.

BTW, a new A4 1.8tq has free maintenance for 36 months or 50k miles doesn't 
it???
