new trunk shocks :-) + some questions
This had to be the first DIY job I've done on my 4k that was as easy as I
thought it would be. Picked up a pair of new shox from Rod at TPC for
$40. Only bad part was when I unhooked the first shock and forgot to prop
the trunk lid..... Won't do that again... Whole job took me 10 minutes.
Also, thanks to all who replied to my question regarding cam grinding.
Sounds like I'm going to stay away from modifying the stock cam. I think
I'm actually just going to keep the cam stock for now. Now I've got a new
question for the collective wisdom of the Q-List.. Someone mentioned that
the nuts mounting the turbo and the exhaust manifold are made of something
other than steel. I am putting together an order for Stainless Steel
hardware from Maryland Metrics(www.mdmetric.com) for the car, and I know
that they can get just about any kind of material that I want soooooo,
Instead of forking over the $100+ for the OE nuts, what metals out there
can take the high temps associated with the turbo and EM?
Thanks
