MC Piston designs???

I got a call today from a guy at JE Pistons after they got my piston & pin
sample.  He said that the cut on top of the piston is fairly unusually
deep and that they should be able to come close but not neccessarily dot
on to the curvature.  Anyway, my question is this:  I have put bigger 40mm
intake valves into the head and since this is an interference motor, I'm
wondering how far down the valves go during normal operation?  I'm
guessing it should stay well above the outer rim of the piston, but just
checking to make sure.  Also, anybody ever messed with slightly different
dome designs with positive results?
