I wanted the stock markers by the headlights to be signals as well.  I
used one relay on each side, triggered by the difference between the
marker wire and signal wire (the bumper signal still runs off the marker
wire to stop the signal from flashing double speed).

the reason this works is the 12v lines of both these circuits is
grounded when the light is off.

So when the lights are off, they flash together, whent he lights are on,
they alternate.
