4kq Fuel delivery problem problem solved

Ok, it was too much fuel courtesy some sort of rodent. As you may recall, my
car suddenly stalled out between shifts and I was able to determine that I
had fuel, courtesy a jumper if need be, and that I had spark, but no fire.
Well, I didn't have the time or inclination to check this out more thoroughly
(or so I thought), thinking somehow that the ecu might be involved, so using
my AAA plus (up to 100 mile tow at no charge), I had it towed to my trusty
shop.

Four hours later picked up the car. Starter is bad, so it needs to be
replaced --but that's beside the point. It seems a rodent got into my air
filter and chewed up the paper pleats into a ball the size of a softball,
which then got sucked in just a little between the plate just above the air
cleaner, effectively flooding the engine. I guess that should have been my
next logical choice. And then I remembered that Brendan Rudack had the car
in the "country " for a while whith all sorts of wildlife.....hmm.

So it never hurts to check the obvious/not so obvious air filter. Thanks for
all the responses. This list is great as always.
