In the early '80s my roommate was thinking of getting (and subsequently
did get) a Honda Civic. I had him talk to a friend of mine who was very
knowledgeable about cars in general. One comment of my friend's that's
stuck in my mind: Honda, at least at that time, had some very generous
hidden-warranty policies. While this is better than a poke in the eye
w/a sharp stick, the fact remains that the car broke.
