beg to differ (without experience...).  My man John next door just
laughed when I mentioned the rope trick.  You don't have to "lock" the
engine, just stop the valves from falling out of the head.  Of course
the engine should be prevented from turning during the operation, but
connecting it to the drive wheels via the tranny and blocking the wheels
should prevent that.

anyway, actual btdt's will follow actually btd'ing t.  To mangle a
phrase I thought had something to do with piston position....
