4kqs problems healed

Hi all,
    I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my email.  It turns
out that the axle on the front driver side popped out of the outer
cv-joint.
    I didn't notice this at first because the axle was still partially
stuck in the end of the cv-joint and appeared to be intact.  I
discovered it when I went around the car and spun the wheels while
holding the axle.  Needless to say this axle and wheel didn't spin
together!
    All the splines on the end of the afflicted axle were chewed off, so
I had to get another one at my local pic-a-part.  On closer inspection
of my old axle, I noticed it had a remanufactured sticker from a place
called "DSR".  I have no idea who sells these but if anyone runs across
one, I would recommend looking to see if the small retaining ring on the
end of the axle is present (I don't like buying remanufactured stuff
anyway)..  The ring on this one was missing.  All in all, the job itself
was painless.  I just think it happened under strange circumstances.
