Huw and I just did this last week to rid Suzanne of the repetitive of the 
clacking sound....

A.) Are you sure it's producing any vac?
B.) I was under the impression it is repetitve braking
C.) Why don't you try it, brake as much and as hard as possible (i.e. "heel 
and toe") and see if you run out.  If you do, put it back.
