Re: Snap, crackle and pop (Bose stereo)

DISCONNECT the rear speaker(s) IMMEDIATELY.

These have a habit of going up in FLAMES. Yes, flames. At least one
or two 200q20v's have been totally destroyed by trunk fire. Leaving
the radio off is OK, since the power is switched by a relay. The
disconnect is a little hard, but not impossible with a
mini-screwdriver to pry the latches on the connector(purple+black,
very obvious.)

Call Audi Of America to report this, we are currently trying to
convince them of this problem. The defect causes the rear bose
speakers to fail. The number and menu selection is a paragraph or
two down.

here is my old post on the subject to the 200q20v list(which I run),
V8 list(which never made it, because they insist on having a closed
list), and the main list. Please send me your car's info in
private(VIN number/color) so I can add it to my DB of speaker fire
cases and records of all 200's(I'm trying to collect info on as many
200q20v's as possible as a side project.)
