Re: wg spring in mc turbo

thanks, Charlie. I don't need it for myself, but it's a great offer for
the listers I've been suggesting this to.

>From the sounds of your spring, 1.6-1.7 bar is a very reasonable boost in
overall power with a good (needed) boost at the bottom of the rev range
without getting ridiculous.

I feel that the mc spring, along with age, is such a detractor to the
generally good performance of the engine. A slightly stiffer, linear
spring will give a nice, flat feel to the power curve, akin to the 3b
turbo, but not so powerful.

As it is with my kh spring, it gives a slight boost to bottom end, mid
range is flat and not peaky (as with the mc spring and the wastegate
cointroller), top end feels even with the mid range and has a mild
increrase of 1.6-1.7 bar. In short, your mc will feel more torquey.

>From charlie's description, his spring will give this effect. Having
driven and modified my old kh, I can say that the mc with the slightly
stiffer spring that allows for slightly higher boost at lower rpms will
mimic the high compression feel of the kh and generation 3 mc. May be the
alternative for the k 24 modification.
