CV's and drive axles are the same thing. I was refering to the strut itself. I
know myself I would want to move to the stronger 5k/Ur-q style strut. You can
stay with 4 bolts if you use the 5k hubs.

If one is serious about rallying (converting an Ur-q is a sign of serious
intention to me) one would go with non assisted triple master cylinder setup
(two for the brakes and one for the clutch).
I would never even think of using the hydraulic system on a rally car. Too many
things can go wrong and the weight penalty is there also.

That is why I changed to vacuum as soon as I got my Ur-q.

Half way through 1983 Audi updated the Ur-q with the newer (same as 4kq) fusebox
(under the hood).
My point is that if you are building a rally car the only difference between the
two would be the body style.
You would still have to remove the engine/drivetrain to prapare the car.
And I bet you the bare Ur-q shell weighs less than a 4kq shell. Reason for this
is the extra metal in the extra doors and framing for them. The only reason the
road going Ur-q is heavier than the 4kq is in the equipment (air, hydraulic
system, turbo etc.).
