Winter driving woes

My 84 Quantum GL5 and I just don't like the cold. I was hoping someone could 
give me a couple suggestions to get me through the winter. The car's start 
idle when the temp is near freezing is dreadful. It's gotten a little better 
since I bought the car over a year ago since I've been putting better oil in 
it and changing it religously. However, it's still quite bad. Additives? 
Suggestions?
