RE: FS: '87 4kq Turbo
Gary,
All good points. However, I didn't think that all q-listers were
so track- and racing-biased. Audis are not just for track use,
some people drive them on the highway and other places as well.
I would not like to drive a 4kq, even a tq, cross-country from
New York to California, as it would be very noisy and not so
comfortable, with little space for luggage and gear. The same trip
would be great in a 5ktq. I also wouldn't want to take three other
people on a trip or even a long drive in a 4kq, as the car is
rather small.
I think you're entirely correct in saying that the 4kq makes a
better track car, but I don't base my purchase solely on its
suitability as a racecar. I think I can get a Porsche 951 to be
just as fast as any 4ktq, short of some $25k+ worth of mods.
Comparing a stock or relatively stock car to a highly modded car
is apples to oranges. I can take an R32 or R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R
or a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI and suitably modify it for track use
and blow _any_ 4ktq into the weeds, with a suitable driver. I really
doubt you can beat a prepped Evo VI with a 4ktq and I'll wager $100
that you can't do it.
Anyway, I'm tired of all the bashing. If you don't like 5ks, fine.
That doesn't mean you have to insult 5k owners. I don't like most GM
cars, but I don't go out of my way to bash GM owners.
