Not all type 44's were galvanized, but anything after '85 certainly was.

Main problem areas:
-inside engine compartment, around the big bolts that run up+down the 
sides on the side panels
-lip of the wheel wells.  Probably from rocks+stuff.
-where the trunk lid comes into contact with the "lip" of the trunk; 
look on the sides.  Every type 44 I've seen has this to some degree. 
There should be some goopy foamy stuff that helps cushion the blow, 
but our 5kCST is showing rust there and I've repaired it informally 3 
times.

Speaking of trunk lids, the wiring loom on the type 44 tends to get 
cut through by the lip of the pipe-like trunk lid supports.  The 
200q20v has rubber plugs, but the 87 model year type 44's don't.  I 
reinforced mine with gaffer's tape(similar to the automotive wiring 
tape) and electrical tape.
