Actually, there are no holes drilled to mount these trim strips. The '85-'88
cars had mounting studs welded to the body. The '89-'91 cars had square
holes into which were clipped plastic nuts that took the mounting screws. I
imagine the square holes were punched before the panel was galvanized and
were left empty for the Euro cars.
