Hi Huw,
For those who do have the trip computer option, the AFP does supply a
signal to it.
The signal from the pot, along with an enrichment signal from the ecu and
rpm pulses from the speedo are what the computer uses to calculate MPG,
distance to empty, and AVG speed.
