91 200q DIES -- Need Help!!

I would 	take a hard look at the fuel pump first.  I had similar things 
happen shortly after I bought my '88 5kcstq.  Car ran fine, but then I had 
a series of stalls, followed by running fine on the freeway and then it 
wasn't.  It would stop, pick up for a short distance and quit again. 
 Finally died completely and I was forced to tow to a local auto raper shop 
who installed a new pump for slightly less than our national debt and I was 
on my way.  I believe it is still working fine after quite a few miles. 
 BTW, the pump made very little noise prior to its failing - it just went 
away.
