True- Carson makes a body for the Tamiya chassis, but they also make a
combustion-engine version with their own chassis. These come
semi-assembled, a kit without servos or transmitter would set you back
about $300. Nice chassis, too. I'm not too convinced of the body, there
seems to be something wrong with the shapes (which are difficult to capture
anyway).
I've seen the A3 (now sold here in a proper Tamiya box) and it looks very
good. I doubt if it'll fit over an AWD chassis, though.
BTW Have you seen the Tamiya R8R? Wow!
