Type 44 Oil and fuel filters

Note:Please ensure that no Diesel fuel drips onto the coolant hoses. Otherwise the hoses must be cleaned immediately
Filter without fuel preheating:
Slacken off breather screw (arrow A)
Slacken off drain plug (arrow B) and drain off approximately 100cm³
Retighten drain plug and breather screw
Diesel engine fuel filter fitting Filter with fuel preheating:
Remove clip 5 and take regulating valve off with fuel pipes connected (not applicable to engine code 3D)

On this engine slacken off breather screw 2 as well (see figure 02-489)
Drain off approximately 100cm³ at the water drain plug (see figure 20-052)
Install regulating valve, refit clip and tighten drain plug (also breather screw on 3D engine)After installing the filter:(With and without fuel preheating)
Check fuel system for leaks
After the engine has been accelerated a few times, fuel should flow through the transparent hose free of bubbles at idling speed
