Measuring compression ratios
- Engine oil must be at least 30°C.
- Disconnect high tension lead from distributor and earth it with a jumper lead.
- Measure compression at starter cranking speed with the throttle fully open.
- Check compression against nominal, wear limit and inter-cylinder delta limits.
