Yeah, that's good marketing for a high-end car company - "something 
common"...

Not sure I understand you, but I think you mean the 100-year old "Audi" 
logo is not like the "quattro" typeface?

I love that fat "A" and the funky "d".  But I also suspect the old 
typeface was getting harder and harder to use on trunk lids. And might 
have looked "dated" to current buyers?
