[urq] Doing the brake shake...not a dance I enjoy!

My 2cents...I had a similar problem with brand new rotors and pads. Brakes were smooth until a couple of miles were traveled, then the "dance" started. Granted, it was never severe enough to be seen in the hood, but it certainly was very noticable. I could feel it in the wheel mostly (only under braking), and somewhat through the chassis, but I never felt it through the brake pedal. Since the brake pedal is hydraulically boosted (and hydraulics can mask just about anything) as opposed to a vac boosted system, it all tends to make sense. The additional symptoms that my car exhibited were: 1. Front brakes were fairly hot after a drive at high speed, with minimal braking. 2. If I applied hard pedal braking, and then released the pedal, I could feel a very slight sticking of the brakes for a while. 3. Trying to push the caliper back into the housing with a press was difficult, as the brake fluid was very slow to backflow into the reservior. Verdict: It was the master cylinder that
was causing my brake issues. Once I changed the MC out, the vibration was very much reduced. I know that my upper strut mounts are very worn, so that might have contributed as well, when the rotors were becoming heat warped.
