I know many of you guys on this list have BTDT with most of my urq
questions/problems and I'm always grateful that you all take the time to help!
Well, here I am again with a CAR DOES NOT START issue. I have gone through
all the troubleshooting procedures/sequence and basic engine conditions to be
checked according to the Introductory Service Training Information
(Maintenance and Adjustments) manual. It has come in handy before but, it seems, that
all tests point to the ECU. I still can't believe it (I double-checked
everything). I used my spare coil and ignition control unit. I even pulled a plug
wire and attached it to a spark detector cranked the engine... no spark. The
only other thing I discovered was that the coil wire resistance measured 2200
ohms and the manual has it at 800 to 1200.
Any help would be appreciated!!!

I had the same problem just this week.
I swapped the motor from my wrecked URQ into the car I picked up in August.
The motor removed was running well but might have a low end bearing issue. The
motor implanted was running fine when car was hit. Once installed with all
the electronics that had 2 days earlier functioned normally - and NO SPARK.
Checked the dizzy alignment 3 times and it was spot on. Changed the ECU -
nothing. Changed the RPM sensor on top of the bell-housing- nothing. Changed the
TDC sensor on the driver side of the bell housing and it fired right up.
I have no real indication why, but speculate the replacement sensor may be
ever so slightly longer or more sensitive or......???
If you need parts to "test swap" let me know.
Was there any terminal event, or did it run fine one day and then just go
dead?
