Goodyear Rant 'n Rave
I need to vent here. Yesterday I took my (her, whatever) '84 5kS to Goodyear
to get two front tires for it. They called me up and told me it needed a left
outer tie rod end before they could do an allignment, fine and dandy I said. I
got the part and she got the car, then I came home to install it. First thing
I noticed is that now the car only has three center caps. Look on the receipt,
expecting to see "sorry, we broke one" like I usually do. Instead, "missing
one centre cap upon receipt of car" is written on there. Jerks. A little
common decency would have been appreciated here, instead they outright lied to
me to avoid replacing the thing. If they would have told me they had broken
it, I wouldn't have cared all too much, the local boneyard gives the things
away, but the fact that they flat out lied to me... Next, I see the
description of the car. "1987 Audi 5000CS Turbo Quattro, black, MD PSU Alumni
license plates, 15" wheels." The car is actually a 1984 Audi 5000S, front
wheel drive, silver, Iowa plates, 14" wheels! What idoits! The last car I had
over there WAS the Quattro, which by the way they had rung up as a 4000
Quattro, not a 5000 Turbo Quattro the first time. So basically they just
punched my name in the computer, and whatever car came up is what they went
with. If they can't tell the difference between a 5000 and a 4000 or a Quattro
versus a non-Quattro is one thing, but they couldn't tell that this car was
silver, not black? MD plates are bright white, this car had dark blue IA
plates, they couldn't see that either? These people are obviously completely
incompetent, so I would have to advise everyone on this list to stay as far
away from Goodyear as possible.
We now return you to your normal Quattro programming.
