Electrical weirdness...
Something strange happened last night in my '88 5kCST...I got in, started
the car, and noticed my clock and computer button were lit up. I have had
the car since April, and this is the first time the white bulb inside there
has decided to work. I knew it didn't work, but I wasn't going to mess
with it, since from what I have seen here on the list, it is a major pain
in the rear to change that little $1.50 bulb. And even with the bulb out,
I could still see it in the daytime, plus the orange light worked fine when
I switched the lights on at night. But now I can really see the numbers in
the sunlight...
What do you think caused this "Audi Phenomenon"? Maybe I hit the ideal
bump in the road to jiggle the connector a little bit? Or have I paid my
dues (in the way of many expensive repairs) to the Audi gods? Maybe they
are rewarding me for my perseverance (or stupidity, however you see it ;)
The funny thing is, now my mileage has gone up 10 miles per gallon since
the bulb started working...
(just kidding...I still can't average over 20 mpg in the city)
