My own observations about the pedals on all Audis (had an 84 auto during
those "DarkDays") is that most american cars have gas pedals mounted on the
floor where they sort of hinge downward. The Audi has a gas pedal that hangs,
much like all brake pedals do. Under a panic situation the feel of that
hanging pedal could be assumed to be the brake. I've never seen this aspect
explored, but then again let's just get past this subject.
