V8 Quattro noises, surges, and leaks

I have a '90 V8 Q with about 70K on it....I have 3 problems that I'm about
to take it to the shop for, but I though I'd ask for any similar
experiences out there before I do:

1) Oil Leak - I think it might be from a sending unit, but I'm afraid it
might be from what looks like a rear seal??

2) When I accelerate quickly, I get a clunking sound (it sounds like it is
right below me)  A Center u joint?

3) At small throttle opening, I get a surging...kinda of a clunking back
and forth.  Perhaps related to a bad u joint?

The car runs great, shifts great ( I don't think its the transmission) and
has been wonderful otherwise.

Any insights??
