Hi Gang,
Well it doesn't rain but it pours. Couldn't wait for the new "banjo"
fitting dooser I'd ordered from Carlsen's I was just losin' to much P-free. So
I went the quick fix, 3/8" ID hose with two hose clamp, route this afternoon.
Worked like a charm, didn't even have to pull the CHP bracket. Took her out for
a spin to evap. all the old P-free and get gas; came back, opened the hood more
STEAM!! no wait...this stuff doesn't smell like P-free and it's not coming from
the any part of the cooling system. Get out the flashlight, gets dark early
'round here these days, and low and behold it's the silly one end bigger than
the other crankcase breather hose venting my nice Amsoil vapors to the world.
Yup, 1" slit in the back side of it. Call Linda, replace the whole breather
system for $15.00. The hose appears to be collapsing around the slit. I seem to
remember this same problem causing one of us grief a while back; I can't see
what prevented it from collapsing before it holed though...? It's real flimsy
stuff the the rubber on that "banjo" fitting dooser.
A good weekend to all, enjoy the snow(we who will get it), and happy motoring!!
