I was real excited about the very ( for $Audi, very very .. ) reasonable
replacement, and called Linda@Carlsen, and the local dealer. Same story,
they have discontinued the replacement program for the stereo in my
'86 Q.
The biggest problem with the one I have is the volume control is worn
out over the first 40% of the control movement. Comes from having to
turn the control through that section EACH TIME YOU TURN THE STEREO
ON OR OFF, i.e. every time, since it does'nt go off with the ignition.
Now I'm STUCK with it.....
I will soon be investigating replacing it with a aftermarket brand,
pity, the wiring/mounting will have to change.
Perhaps someone out there has a stereo in reasonable shape the is
just sitting around ???
