Until the volume of Audis/Porsches increases, you better get used to
dorky salespersons. I work in the automobile business(Lexus), and
generally your low volume dealerships(whatever the marque) attract
nothing but losers, because there is no money to be made. The high
volume dealers attract the few knowledgeable and competent salespersons
that can be found in the auto business. Even the large Audi dealerships
move less than 30 new cars a month, with 5-10 salespersons, there
is very little money to be made. The dealer principles are usually flakey
also, because the dealerships, as well as the salespersons, aren't making
money, so like you mentioned, the dealerships change hands quite often.
Personally, I just ignore the salespersons, and find out about any car I am
interested in on my own.
