Dora's progress and Address

Greetings, Qfolks!

My sincerest thanks to all of you, and especially Peter Schulz for the original
suggestion, for your interest in my Beloved Dora's progress and the idea to send
her get well cards. I know she would be grateful to receive a card from anyone
who cares enough to write! Words cannot express either my gratitude, or my
overwhelming sense of commaraderie with you all!

Dora has a Stage II, "Invasive poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma
with cloacogenic features." This is a very rare cancer, but her oncologist
is optomistic and states that there is a 60%-80% success rate using the "Wayne
State Protocol," which is a two pronged, chemo & radiation attack.

Boys and girls, the "therapy" is something you do *not* want to experience. As
Eric would say, NJTH...

[ List-content alert!!! ] We live in the country outside Annapolis, MD (1270
Lavall Drive, Davidsonville, MD 21035-1134), and have been severely impacted by
the Blizzard of '96 (tm). The Radiation facility was closed on Monday, and we
were snow-bound (26 inches in the drive way) on tuesday, so she missed her
radiation treatments both of those days. Last night, we stayed in a hotel just
a mile from the radiation facility and got the treatment this morning at 8:00
am, thanks to the Audi 4KQ running gear of the VW (quantum) Syncro! Then we
returned home. After shovelling an entry through the snow/ice dam from the
county snow plow, we breezed through the 3 inches of fresh snow down the 700+
feet of drive way and up the 30 degree incline to the garage without a hitch!

BTW, on the subject of Viscous vs other differentials: You may or may not know
that although VW uses the term "Syncro" to describe the AWD systems on both the
Quantum and the Vanagon, they are completely different systems; the quantum (a
station wagon body only) uses the Audi 4KQ system (including the 5-cyl) with
both locking mechanical differentials, the Vanagon uses the VC system.

Also BTW and JFWIW, the original ehcsroP C-4 used a complex, computer-controlled
clutch system in the center, while the 993 C-4 currently uses a VC system. The
original system was a bit "too" efficient at eliminating the trademark
oversteer, while later VC based system allows the exuberbent driver access to
that (it's not a bug, it's a ) feature! (Being only 1/2 the weight of the
original system don't hurt a bit, either...)

Thank you all, my Friends!!!
