5000 problems

     greetings,
         After I spent years singing the praises of all things AUDI my 
     father was finally convinced and went out and bought one. Its an 84 
     5000s. He loves it. however it has a few annoying problems I hope 
     someone here can help us out with. I've checked the archives but there 
     is little detail on these problems.
     
     1. the car can not be driven for more than 10 min without the windows 
     fogging up. no matter what the climate control is set at. There must 
     be a window open at all times.  No smell of coolant so that rules out 
     a leaking heater core. 
     
     2. the blower will only send air through the defroster vents instead 
     of the main vents (except for random occasions when it works 
     properly).
     
     3 the heater control unit is clicking as the upper arm tries to move. 
     What does one of these units cost. Has there been any success with 
     repair?
     
     4. Has anyone had luck fixing their sagging headliner?
     
     This is by no means an exaustive list but I think I can get the rest 
     on my own.
