This morning, while driving on US 60 through the V.L.A. (Very Large Array of
radio telescopes ... kind of neat to look at) in Magdalena, NM, I decided it
was finally time to see just how fast my "new" 200tq would run: after just a
few miles with my foot on the floor, I spotted a black car on the horizon so
I backed off at "just" 122mph ... turned out that it wasn't a police car but
better safe than sorry under the circumstances, eh? ["No, sir, I don't know
how fast I was going but I thought for sure that *you* would..." ;^) ]
Anyhow, the car was still gaining speed slowly but I doubt it had another 3
or 4 mph left in it. The altitude was 7,000' feet, the outside temp was 37
degrees and there was a slight (10-15mph) headwind. Does this sound in the
ballpark for a box-stock car with 94k on it? I can't wait until I start to
tinker with it!
