The same thing I was thinking when I bought Bruce Hochuli's TQC. It's a
beautiful car; he's put a ton (I mean a ton) of money and efoort into it;
BUT it too has a minor problem -- dramatic "pulsing" (fuel starved?) in the
3k to 4k RPM range under load. Any Ideas? BTW, his mechanic thought it was
positively the frequency valve. Put one from a 5kt in... The TQC ran
beautifully during the test drive and for the next 5 hours of driving up I5.
Went to turn it off, and it was idling at 2000 RPM. The next morning, the
3k-4k RPM drama began. Any ideas? Anyone? It's too butt cold here in
Portland (14 deg. F / -5 deg. F with windchill) to work on it in an unheated
garage, so I haven't started into it yet.
Are the frequency valves in these cars unique to the TQC?
Thanks again Brian and all that helped me in my TQC search. Wouldn't you
know, an '83 TQC appeared for sale in the Oregonian the day I flew down to
California!
