Here's a summary of what I know. The 44 body style sedan
was sold from 1984 to 1991 in the U.S., with a variety of
	in-line five-cylinder engines, with or without four-wheel
drive (quattro). From 1984-1988, the cars were 5000's, and
then they were 100s and 200s till '91. Other facts in
	no particular order:

	- The "CS" suffix started in 1986: before that it was just "S".
The two were never sold simultaneously.

	- Turbos have the fake tail-light trim all the way across the
trunk -- non-turbos have black trim instead.

	- Engines (all are about 2.2 odd liters).
		110 HP (< 86?)
140 HP intercooled turbo (84-85, engine code KH)
		130 HP (86-88, perhaps later)
162 HP watercooled, intercooled turbo (86-90, engine code MC)
		217 HP 20V, w/c, i/c turbo ('91 200 Quattros only).

	- There were both turbo and non-turbo quattros.

	- 100's are all normally aspirated, 200's are all turbos.

	- All have four-wheel discs brakes and power steering, both assisted
by a common (and sometimes troublesome) hydraulic pump which takes
expensive green oil. Most are pretty loaded: A/C, stereo, sunroof,
power windows. First and last likely to be troublesome, esp. in
	earlier cars.

	- Quattros started in '86, and came only with a 5-speed.

	- Lots of things break in Audis, but the engine's pretty
bulletproof. We have several list members with over 200K miles
	on their I-5's.

	- The occasional car that you see without badges is either
a V8 quattro (headlight wipers), a 200 quattro, or some guy
who got sick of his tarnished 5000S badges and took them off.

	- To contemplate owning and maintaining an Audi without
belonging to this list is unthinkable :-)

That's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure others
will add to this list. Probably *much* more than you ever
	wanted to know!
