Re: Wiper Pump Question
Hi!
I had this "wiper pump delivers very few" problem this spring.
First I thought, I had shot the pump leaving it dry during the
winter (this happened to my father a year ago). BUT: removing the
pump and testing it under "living room" conditions showed: It's
spraying water all over my carpet... Back in the car: only a few
drips.
Then I realized a little thing hooked up between the short rubber
hose from the pump nozzle and the rest of the plastic hose: A drain
back valve (sp?). I removed it and voila! windscreen gets wet again.
The valve was working very (too?) hard. Since there was no dealer
nearby, I left this buildup as a workaround -- and now I am too
lazy... But it works.
Perhaps my pump *is* weak and was not longer able to push water through
the valve. But I for myself was not able to blow air through it (in both
directions) with my mouth.
So long!
Ero.
