I've used an escort, a uniden, and now the valentine. There's
something good to be said for each of them. You are right about the
way different bands are displayed visibly, the valentine is lacking in
this area. I do find the audible distinction sufficient. But I
**really** like the direction finder and the signal counter very much,
and there is less falsing than with any other model I have used (that
was a very bad problem for the uniden.)
Usually when I have multiple counts from various directions it's
noise. The direction finder and counter have more than once saved me
from a second patrol car just ahead of one I had already spotted.
