Racing teams pull the bolts every hour.  No chance of rust there.

My own take is that no-one should leave their wheels _on_ that long.  Driving a 
performance vehicle without checking the discs, pads, and other rotating bits 
every now and then is irresponsible. 

Clean, dry and frequent.
