Yeah - that's the "Abstand" I was talking about.  Radar speed measurement and 
light trap timing of the gap between you and the guy in front - all neatly 
calculated and displayed in a little box in the photograph.  Don't tailgate 
without keeping a wary eye on the bridges.

It's just a big flashgun.  One of my German colleagues once referred to it as 
"suitable for shooting down low-flying aircraft" and the family has referred to 
it as the "anti-aircraft flashgun" ever since.  It's the only flashgun I've 
ever owned with a ricochet.

I just tried it with some CDs in the garden at radar flash-type distances.  In 
the visible spectrum (and I suspect all others) nothing useful happens.

I suspect the only way to hide your license plate with CDs is to tape them over 
it.
